John C. DeMoss, CFA

John DeMoss's wealth management experience includes managing specialized strategic investments for prominent Chattanooga investors, as well as running a number of pension and other institutional portfolios.

Building upon a highly successful record, developing proprietary investment models, and advising many individual investors and businesses, John launched DeMoss Capital in early 2008 to provide wealth management services to high net worth individuals.

As Vice President of Private Client Services, Lee plays a lead role in managing our client relationships .  Lee works closely with the rest or our team in all aspects of the investment and financial planning process, focusing on the discovery, strategy formulation, communication, and review phases of the cycle.  He is also a DeMoss Capital shareholder and serves on the investment policy committee for the firm.  Prior to joining DeMoss Capital, Lee held the positions of Vice President, Investments and Branch Manager at Raymond James & Associates, Inc.  He began his career with The Robinson-Humphrey Company in Atlanta, GA in 1993.  Lee attended the Stetson School of Business at Mercer University in Macon, GA on an academic and athletic scholarship, where he earned his B.B.A., Business Administration.

Travis Flenniken, CFA

Travis Flenniken, CFA

Travis’s previous roles were with a boutique investment bank and a business valuation firm, serving as an advisor to business owners in merger & acquisition transactions. Travis was also responsible for services and consultation related to business valuations in connection with fairness opinions, employee stock ownership plans (ESOPs), tax planning, litigation matters, and more.

Prior to his role in business valuation and investment banking, Travis served as a small business loan fund manager and an equity analyst for an investment company which made debt and equity investments in small businesses. Travis began his career as an analyst in the Trust Department of a regional bank providing investment consultation and financial plans for individuals and estates.

Travis has a B.S. in Finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and an M.B.A. from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. In 2001, he earned the Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is member of the CFA Institute. He and his wife Amber live on Signal Mountain with their two sons. They are members of Northshore Fellowship Church.

Kay Hughes, CFP®

Kay has over eight years experience in management and was instrumental in the start up of a successful RIA firm, which grew during her time at that firm to over $300 million in assets under management. Prior to joining DeMoss Capital, Mrs. Hughes worked for a registered investment advisory firm in Memphis, Tennessee, where she worked in Client Services.

 Kay has a B.S. in Economics from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and an M.B.A. from the University of Memphis. She is a Certified Financial PlannerTM  professional and a member of the Financial Planning Association.

John has managed a small business accounting and bookkeeping firm since 1995.  He currently serves as President of DeMoss Accounting, which is a practice of Joseph Decosimo and Company. A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, John received his CPA license in 1989.
