The Importance of Coordination

Highly qualified and well-connected financial advisors are important to an investment plan. Why is it important that he/she is well-connected? Because investment plans do not stand alone. A good investment plan takes information from your estate plan, your tax circumstances, your family structure, businesses, as well as your short and long-term objectives.
Part of being a competent professional is understanding where your strengths begin and where they end. I believe a good financial advisor is also a good coordinator; someone that knows the estate issues to look into, the relevant tax considerations, and coordinates actions among all professionals relevant to the plan.
Unfortunately, many financial advisors take a very simplistic approach to the decision about how to allocate investments, and leave some other professionals out of the discussion. I think this leads to a suboptimal investment allocation.
When you're working with an advisor, understand where he/she believes his/her responsibilities begin and end. Does this advisor work closely with your other advisors, or bring anyone else into the discussion?
At DeMoss Capital, we believe every single individual/family is unique, and a thorough understanding of all relevant variables is a prerequisite to a job well done. With a staff consisting of multiple CFA Charterholders, a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and a CPA, we have the ability to understand complex issues and incorporate outside counsel when appropriate. We believe that, as a result of this approach, your family's investment plan will be constructed in the best possible manner, as we sit along side you, as partners, to manage the risk and return levels in your portfolios.
Working with other competent, values-driven professionals gives us access to many non-traditional and unique investment opportunities which can be used as appropriate. With an open-architecture, we have virtually no limits in our ability to advise you.
